Rambling
Tried to write a summary for this year and started rambling. Seems I can't get to the point today. I'm impatient and a bit time nostalgic at the same time.Mood:

Today is the last day of 2001. What has this year brought me?
Unexpected changes, especially in the last quarter.
Job:
One year ago I was excited because I had a new, rather secure I thought, job. It proved to be diverse and interesting. Alas, the bad order situation almost lead to me being fired in fall. Almost as last opportunity I could move between branch offices. Other tasks, more responsibilities – overall it was a change for better.
Resolution: Be successful! As simple as that. ;)
Life:
Following the professional changes I had to move home. It was very stressing to get into the new job, find an apartment and move my furniture simultaneously. And I got into a relationship at the same time. A fact that leaves me still speechless sometimes. Yes, it was an interesting time and it will stay interesting, I imagine.
This year made me more independent. I moved out of my parents' home and began living on my own. I spend the holidays with my parents, but felt a bit out of place. It hurt to realize that I was only visiting, not coming home.
Resolution: Get new friends (2), preferable such who have the same hobbies.
Health:
One of my resolutions last year was more sport. Sadly, again I never acted on it. Oh yes, I am walking whenever possible instead of driving, I often, but infrequently, do gymnastics in the morning or evening, but I didn't get a sport schedule as I intended. My health is unchanged, neither better nor worse.
I belong to these lucky people who don't need to make the decision between diets and overweight. Seems I just have the right food mix. One worry less.
Resolution: Keep walking whenever possible instead of using the car. Get a fitness schedule, sport on one or two days in the week. Swimming is a good option.
Writing:
After only role playing posts I started in the spring a Wheel of Time fan fiction. Alas, I got stuck and need to do re-plotting after the prologue and two and a half chapters. Nonetheless I still feel the story is worth writing and I won't abandon it. The idea is what happens if Rand al'Thor burned out during the battle of Tarwin's Gap in The Eye of the World. Else I lurked in Holly Lisle's Forward Motion, read essays and articles about the craft of writing, tried a few writing exercises and book reviews.
Resolutions: Write daily, at least journal daily. Continue the Wheel of Time fanfic.
optional: Write the Star Wars and/or Baldur's Gate II story you keep thinking about.
better: Write at least two book reviews. It's a good training.
still better: Try to write two original stories.
Last, but not least resolution: Don't forget to add content to my web site.
Onward with my Dabbling in Writing!
